Kicking the Habit
I have developed this nasty habit over time of Caffeine dependency. I just cant live without it. Oh boy it has turned into a major part of my daily routine. Sodas, energy drinks, caffeinated soap, caffeinated mints, heck I even got a case of caffeinated water!!!!! Oh boy I am so over the edge on this one. So I have decided that at 1pm today, I am kicking the habit. No caffeine. That means no caffeinated sodas, no mor energy drinks, no more caffeinated mints, nothing. Just cold turkey. Uhgh!!! I have added a count-up clock at the top of this page that will keep time for me. I am sure its going to be tough and I hope I dont stumble, but we shall see. Ok, 4 hours to go. lol. Wish me luck!!!!
I’m Sick Today
yesterday I felt it coming on and today it hit me full bore!!!! Head cold to the max. I am on the Sudafed, Alavert and Dayquil to get through work today and tonight is a bottle of NyQuil and a pillow. Uhgh, I hate feeling like this.
New Toy
So way back when the iphone app store was announced, I thought one of the coolest things would be some sort of performance monitor/test software. Something that could read 1/4 times, acceleration and give an estimated horsepower. If it could hook to some sort of OBD-II cable or device that could also read your cars computer than further bonus.
Well today. Part of my wish has come through. A program called Dynolicious was released today that does a few of those things. It can read acceleration as well as braking an lateral G Forces. It will give you an estimated quarter mile a well as further break downs of distance and log it all for you. It also does averages and can log multiple cars. I also found it can do an estimated up reading but that an really only be a guestimate and not accurate. So from time to time I will post some of the info from it on here. Attached are a few screens from the app.
Stupid Mustang
It is no secret that I am no fan of the Ford Mustang. I think they look ridiculous and the lust of people after them is pathetic. I just hate the car. They are slow, look like crap and usually mustang owners are a-holes. Ok rant over about that. But on the way to work I see this car driving next to me. Huge ass ugly wheels, body kit that is coming off and horrible paint job. Than I see that the guys i advertising the body shop where he got his work done. And I must say, I know of at least one more body shop NOT to go to. if this guys car is an indication of the work they do there. His headlights were falling off, none of the body seams matched, the paint was mis-matched between body panels and overall the car just looks stupid.
The bonus picture is another stupid car I saw at lunch the other day. Enjoy!!
Lookie what I saw this morning
Driving to work this morning I saw this right in front of me. Sorry for the not so great pictures but it is what it is. Sexy new GT-R
I forgot my phone today
Boy is it frustrating when I forget my phone. It really does bug me. I feel a little naked. Is that odd? Probably not in this day in age. But I have become used to using my phone for more than just calls. I check my e-mail, browse the internet, read my RSS feeds, play games, listen to music, log my car data, get directions, order my movie tickets and more. It really has become my life line. Heck they even have the app so I can post more rambling crap more often, with worthless pictures of crap!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!
So now that I realized how much my phone does for me, I have to ask, has it really improved my life? Probably not. As you all know, I am a gadget freak. I love gadgets. But most of them are for entertainment. I have my iPod, AppleTV, iPhone, Wii, X-Box, PS2, etc and all of them are for entertainment. None of them have greatly improved my life. Heck, I dont think I have turned on the xBox in months. It just sits there like a rag doll, limp and useless. So I ask myself, what do I need to get through these few things I have problems with:
- procrastination
- forgetfullness
- laziness
- boredom
- inability to follow through
Does the list go on? You bet your butt, but I am at work and don’t have time to list them all. So those are the few things I need to work on. Ok, thanks for listening to my ramblings, oh and if you have any suggestions, leave me a comment to help me out!! Also, dont forget to click on my sponsors to the left, I could use the few cents I might get. lol
Why Taking A Week Off Is Bad
So here I sit at the gym waiting for my boss to finish, I realize that it has been about a week since I last swam. Oh boy do I hurt. Before I took a week off I was able to do 40 laps at the park pool which equates to about 20 at the gym with a few being back to back. Today, I did slightly less.
After just one lap I felt like I was going to die. I was able to muster up enough strength to do 8 laps and than I did 2 more with the kickboard. Not great but better than nothing.
Now that I can post from my phone look for more updates at a regular basis.
First Test and a Swimming Update
Last night was my first test in my Intro to CIS class. I had read the chapters but knew most of it already and when I got the test I let out a little chuckle. It was 50 questions, multiple choice and True/False. I finished it in about 5 minutes was surprised to learn that most people it would take them the entire 2.5 hours of class.Wow. Anyways, not sure what my score is but Im sure I did just fine. lol
So now onto swimming. Since I was able to finish my test early I had enough time to get home and go swimming with Jayna and her mom. They go to the city pool for adult lap swimming which is great because there are so few people that go. I decided to take along the flippers as well as my snorkle to see how they might help me. Oh boy did they help me. I was able to do 40 laps instead of 20 and my legs actually felt like they got a better workout. Some of the laps were with the kickboard and others were freestyle. Either way I think I did a good workout and am quite happy with my progress. Ok, more to come later.
